How to Calculate an Hourly Rate (Freelancers & Employers)
An hourly rate is the wage per working hour, used for part-time jobs, overtime, and freelance pricing.
From a Monthly Salary
Hourly rate = monthly salary ÷ (hours per week × 4.33)
(4.33 = average weeks per month)
Example: 30,000 THB/month, 40 hours/week:
- 30,000 ÷ (40 × 4.33) = 30,000 ÷ 173.2 ≈ 173 THB/hour
For Freelancers
Hourly rate = (target annual income + expenses) ÷ annual working hours
Example: target 600,000 THB/year + 100,000 expenses → 700,000 ÷ 1,600 hrs ≈ 437 THB/hour
