How to Calculate Dividends: Formula & Examples
A dividend is a share of profits paid to shareholders. Dividend stocks are popular for steady cash flow.
Dividend Formulas
Dividend = shares held × dividend per share (DPS)
Dividend yield = (DPS ÷ share price) × 100
Example
Holding 1,000 shares, company declares 2.50 THB/share:
- Dividend = 1,000 × 2.50 = 2,500 THB
Share price 50 THB → yield = (2.50 ÷ 50) × 100 = 5% per year
Dividend Tax (Thailand)
- Listed stocks: 10% withheld at source (tax credit option available)
- Example: 2,500 THB dividend → 10% withheld → receive 2,250 THB
